No one wants weeds taking over their garden. Richard Williams stock a variety of weed control products to help keep them at bay!
We have a few different options for landscape fabric. Our most popular option is the Fleximas Weedban 70. The Weebdan 70 rolls are made of a spun-bonded membrane which allows air, nutrients and liquids to pass through to the soil, creating a healthy and fertile soil. You can also use all fertilizers, liquid and solid feed with Weedban. To guarantee that no weeds will penetrate from underneath, the membrane must always be covered with a mulch. Applications for Weedban 70 include rose & shrub beds, vegetable & fruit beds, flower beds, aggregate areas and paths, under decking, under artificial grass, under domestic patios and when aggregating a lawn. Weedban is available in two different sized rolls; 1 x 14mtr and 2 x 50mtr.
If you require a thicker landscape fabric, you may want to consider our Terram option. The Terram 1000 roll that we keep in stock is a standard geotextile that enhances the perfomance and design life of granular layers by providing the filtration and separation functions. Typical uses for Terram include ground stabilisation (between the sub-base and subgrade) and around drainage materials. As the Terram option is thicker, there’s no loss in bearing strength when stone is placed on top. Typical applications for it include paved and unpaved roads, railways, car parks & hardstandings and cycleways & footpaths.
If you are unable to put a landscape fabric down, you may want to use a weed killer instead. Richard Williams have a variety of products to choose from including Ground Clear, Glyphosate, Path Weedkiller and Round Up.
Our most popular of the weed killers is Ground Clear, made by Bayer. It’s a long lasting treatment that provides season long weed control, keeping weeds away for up to 4-6 months. It is supplied in simple, soluble sachets, which mean that application is quick and easy with no measuring required. To kill existing weeds and prevent new ones from growing, it should be applied from April to September, when weeds are small and actively growing, but have a large leaf area to allow sufficient absorption.
If you require a stronger weed killer, then we can also offer Glyphosate, available in either a concentrate, ready to use sprayer or sachets like the Ground Clear. Glyphosate is a systemic weedkiller that kills most tough and deep rooted weeds including brushwood, brambles and Japanese knotweed.
